Questions & answers

It's one script, loaded async, so your page doesn't wait for it. It's about 60 kB gzipped and keeps to itself: your CSS can't break it and it can't break yours.

No. By default they just start typing. If you'd rather know who you're talking to, turn on the pre-chat form (Starter and up) and choose which fields are required.

The widget says you're away and swaps the chat for a short form: their message, plus a name and email if they want an answer by email. It's in the inbox when you're back.

It moves to Missed chats in the inbox, with how long ago it came in, so it can't quietly disappear. Reply anyway: the visitor sees your answer the next time they open the widget.

Opening a waiting chat makes it yours, and everyone else sees your face on it. If it should go to someone else, transfer it with a note.

No. A person on your team answers every chat. On Pro you can set up automatic replies and routing rules, but nothing pretends to be a human.
